I am setting up a program with Jeff and Kate with about 30 kids who are part of the Junior Rangers and when I return to the US I hope to connect them with students in Washington in a pen pal program with a focus on creating ways young people can have an effect on preserving their environment.
At Junior Rangers, the kids learn about organics and ecosystems, food chains, food webs, biodiversity, and about and water erosion about native plants and animals.
But mostly they learn about teamwork, problem-solving, and being a part of a group that wants to make a difference in their community and that is why I so enjoy being a part of this effort with young people.
