Junior Rangers Field Trip Mural is coming along!

It is great to be able to do this in the light. The kids are getting excited about the field trip as are Kate, Jeff, and I. Plans are to go to the other side of the island to an area that has 2000 petroglyphs, to see a coffee plantation and coffee cooperative. A highlight will be a meeting with the parrot researchers with a fun show for the kids.  These parrots are an endangered species. We will stop at a restaurant for the kids and end the trip at the beach…kids usually don’t know how to swim but we have enough adults to keep them safe!

My first sight of Ometepe

And coming home to Centro Puma where Jeff and Kate live and work. Centro Puma is a cozy restaurant in this tiny village. Jeff says “we are in this cool little town with nothing to do. Cafe Puma is our gathering place with our ecotourism guides, our educational center, where our Nicaraguans learn that they can make a living and at the same time be stewards of their land.”
